Ola pessoal,

EU tentei um alternativa pelo controller para remover os acentos digitados pelo usuário ao cadastrar-se na loja, porem notei que ele não funciona e ja tentei modificar por diversas vezes porem sem sucesso.
Testei com STR_REPLACE e STRTR e nenhuma funcionou, por isso acredito que por script fica melhor, assim ja envia os dados limpos.

Alguém teria uma dica de criar um script para limpar os caracteres especiais e acentos, ou ate mesmo um regex para essa finalidade.

Você pode adicionar a function abaixo no controller, ela removerá acentos, aspas, sinais de pontuação e espaços duplos.

Resolvi pessoal,

Adicionei a função no model e fiz a validação antes de enviar para o banco de dados, isso resolve a questão.

Estamos removendo os acentos e caracteres especiais a pedido de um de nossos clientes (um case isolado), o mesmo nos pediu e assim procuramos faze-lo, com a ajuda do @Manoel Vidal implantamos com sucesso.

Alguém sabe como remover espaço em branco no fim dos campos Nome e Sobrenome, das partes de cadastro e editar o cadastro.

Eu tentei usar a função rtrim no seguinte arquivo catalog/controller/account/edit.php
